FDS Nano Double Screw Pump
Introducing the World’s Smallest Double Screw Pump!
Fristam Pumps next-generation solution for hygienic low-flow pumping and dosing is a downsized version of our standard FDS pump. This innovative new pump design has been meticulously engineered for accuracy and performance when pumping smaller quantities of 5-900l/h or performing a dosing function.
Key Benefits
3 pumps in 1: Unlike other low flow pumping technologies, the FDS Nano can alternate between operating at low speeds for pumping and dosing and high speeds (up to 4,000rpm) to self-clean with CIP. It is therefore equally suitable for:
- Low flow, gentle product pumping (viscosities up to 1 million cP)
- Dosing – Either shots; up to 70 shots per minute or continuous dosing
- CIP – high velocity pumping up to 4,000rpm
Hygienic Design: The FDS Nano internal design is open and free from dead areas. Fully flushed areas around the mechanical seals ensure effective cleaning during CIP, with no need to disassemble the pump to clean it, enhancing operational efficiency.
Gentle Product Handling: The twin screw design of the FDS Nano ensures smooth, low-shear product handling.
Effortless pumping, even in tough conditions: The FDS Nano handles up to 70% air in the line without air-locking and viscosities up to 1 million cP are conveyed with ease.
With the capability of achieving such low flow rates, Fristam are now able to enter new areas of processing:
- Pre-production phases of manufacturing – where smaller quantities of ingredients are pumped in a ‘kitchen’ environment to make up batches.
- Towards the end of production – for dosing and filling lines.
- Pilot plants pumps – The FDS Nano is a scaled down FDS, making it the ideal pilot plant pump. Customers can judge a direct miniature of the technology on a smaller scale, before opting for a larger pump when production is scaled up.
Replacing inferior low flow technology:
The FDS Nano is a great replacement for AOD (Air operated diaphragm pumps) or gear pumps for pumping small volumes of product. However, neither pump type is optimised for hygiene or pumping shear sensitive products.
